Governor Pen Portraits
Imogen Plaskitt:
I have been a parent at Holy Apostles since 2013, with my third son currently in Year three. All three of my children joined as pre-schoolers and I have been actively involved as a parent since then. I was Chair of the Pavilion Group for eight years, during which time I became a member of the Governing Body which I joined in 2014 as a Foundation Governor. I took on the role of Vice-Chair in 2022 before being elected as Chair in September 2023.
I have a background in secondary school teaching having been a PE teacher; a role which I thoroughly enjoyed before starting my family. I am passionate about education and believe in the importance of our children getting the best possible start in life in a setting that provides a safe, secure and happy environment alongside the delivery of their education to the highest possible standards.
Outside of this, I have a Health and Wellness business and I am currently undertaking my Yoga Teacher Training.
Jon Moss:
I joined the Holy Apostles Governing Body in November 2021 as a Foundation Governor. Professionally, I am a qualified teacher and have worked in school leadership since 2013. Presently, I am employed as the Head Teacher at Lakeside Primary School in Cheltenham. Prior to this role, I was the Executive Head and Head Teacher of small village primaries as well as the Deputy Head of one of Gloucestershire's biggest primary schools. My philosophy to primary education is child-centred, always looking to focus on the things that have the greatest impact on children being safe and happy learners. Alongside the school leadership day-job, I am a facilitator of National Professional Qualifications at Pates Grammar School - work which keeps me up to date with the latest educational research and the broader picture of education nationally. Outside of work, I live locally with my wife Georgie and our two daughters who are both pupils at Holy Apostles, providing a perspective as a school-parent alongside that of a school-leader.
William Cumming-Bruce:
I am an experienced primary school teacher. I founded a tutoring company at the start of the pandemic which provided accessible online tuition to local families and schools and have co-founded an education charity which provides fully subsidised tuition to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. I have a M.Ed in Inclusive Education and is currently completing a PhD in philosophy of education, exploring the concept of inclusion in education.
Chris Brooker:
My eldest son started at Holy Apostles’ Primary school in 1991, followed by his brother in 1993. Initially I joined the PTA, then in 1996 was elected as a parent governor. I became a Foundation Governor in 1998 and from 2001-2022 held the office of Chair. I recently retired from leading Holy Apostles’ Pre-school but maintain a close working relationship with the reception teacher in school and together we are able to have professional discussions about assessment and progress as part of my role as EYFS link Governor.
As a Foundation Governor and a member of Holy Apostles church, I am committed to ensuring that our Christian vision continues to be central to the teaching here. I have recently taken on the role of RE link Governor and I work closely with Ashley Collishaw, vicar at Holy Apostles, together with the subject lead. I also sit on Finance & Premises, Curriculum & Standards and Personnel committees.
As you can see, I have an enduring, passionate interest in Holy Apostles’ and I am committed to helping to create a thriving, happy environment where all can be the best they can be!
Ally Willett:
I am the School Business Manager at Holy Apostles’ and joined the school in 2020. I have over ten years’ experience working in the finance industry, am AAT qualified and studied English with the Open University.
I currently sit on the finance and premises committee.
I live in Cheltenham with my husband and our three children. In my spare time I enjoy kickboxing, going to gigs and am currently learning Swedish.
Simon Dye:
I have been a member of the Holy Apostles congregation since the early noughties and was elected to their Parochial Church Council in 2023.
I am committed to ensuring that our Christian vision continues to be central to the teaching here at Holy Apostles School and work closely with Ashley Collishaw the Vicar at Holy Apostles. I also sit on the School’s Finance & Premises committee.
As a parent I know the joys and responsibilities of bringing up children and hope to extend those delights and experiences to the School. It’s a journey that is always evolving, always learning and ultimately hopefully be rooted in Christian love.
Ashley Collishaw:
I have been Vicar of Holy Apostles Church in Charlton Kings since 2019, and am married to Alex with three children currently moving through the different stages of A levels and University. I have been ordained now for around twenty years, and based in Cheltenham for fifteen of those. I am a lifelong supporter of Nottingham Forest and enjoy watching sport, films, playing a little golf (badly), and occasionally “dabbling in oils.”
Bruce Lunt:
Between circa 2013 and 2018 I was a foundation governor at Holy Apostles, though I left due to work and family commitments. Having now retired from practicing as a litigation solicitor, I decided I would like to return to being a governor. I am now Local Authority appointed governor. In addition to this, I do other volunteering work for Cheltenham Borough Council as well as at the Cheltenham Animal Shelter. I am also looking for a Non-Executive Director role. Beyond my ‘work’ interests, I enjoy cycling, clay pigeon shooting and various other activities. Without children myself, my wife and I have a football team’s worth of Godchildren, who we remain actively involved with.
Shaun Gluyas:
Originally from the north-west I moved to Cheltenham in 2007 following three years in America coaching football and skiing to primary school aged children. From a professional perspective my current role, which I have been in for over fifteen years is teaching and coaching in an FE college where I am also responsible for leading improvements in teaching and learning. In additional to a PGCE and various coaching qualifications I have acquired a Masters in Educational Leadership and have a keen interest in supporting improvements in learning along with most sports and music. I live locally and with my wife Emma and two children who both attend Holy Apostles.
